Garcia Rainey Blank & Bowerbank LLP is proud to announce that Jimmy Y. Chen, a corporate transactional attorney with a wide array of experience, joins its ranks as partner. Jimmy laterals over from the Orange County office of Dentons US LLP (formerly McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP), where he served as Counsel and was a member of the firm's corporate practice group.

We are excited to add Jimmy to our team because his unique experience bolsters our already thriving corporate and cross-border transactional practice groups. Jimmy specializes in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private placements and other financing arrangements, as well as intellectual property protection. His clients span a wide array of industries, including restaurants, internet and technology, real estate development, commercial property management, and clothing and apparel. Most recently, Jimmy represented a private equity fund with respect to its acquisition of over 70 pizza franchises across multiple states, and represented a development stage technology company with the world's first artificial intelligence web design platform with respect to a $12,500,000 private placement of its preferred stock.

Prior to practicing law, Jimmy was the Director of Marketing at a publicly traded Internet company. This real-world business experience provides him with unique insight on delivering legal services in a practical, business-oriented manner. Jimmy earned his law degree cum laude and Order of the Coif from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. He also holds a degree in Development Studies from University of California, Berkeley.
